We moved into Nether Moor House in November 1992. The garden was originally laid out in about 1930 by Proctors’ Nursery, and the trees around the periphery were planted about the same time.
The front layout is similar to the original – we had to rebuild the terraces a few years ago – but behind the house was a croft hidden by a high wall, which we have landscaped and planted with specimen trees. The lockdown project was to remodel the garden near the house with a Japanese theme. Our latest project is to replace the fruit cage, now over shadowed by trees and the wooden structure rotten, by a Japanese influenced woodland walk.
